In the mid 1800s Charles Babbage "Father of the computer" designed the very first mechanical computer. The computer was demonstrated in
December of 1943, and they were invented between 1940 and 1945 in the United
Kingdom and the United States. There were so many people that were involved in
the process of making the very first computer such as Konrad Zuse and Tommy
Flowers. The very first computer was 1800 sq. ft. Computers have improved in size, now we just have computers on our desk.
This is a newspaper artical of the first computers in schools. Computers have taken the place of books and encyclopedias. We no longer need to look our information up in a book we can just get on the Inernet.Having the Internet is like having the world at our fingertips. In 1975 apple began donating apple 1 to schools to use to look up their information.
This is a floppy disk. A floppy disk is a disk you can put in your computer to save your work on and store computer data, but it depends on the size of disk. The floppy disk was invented by a team at IBM lead by a man named Alan Shugart. Instead of using a floppy disk today we can use a flash drive to save our work .
on. These are parts of the computer. The monitor is a electronic display. Computers were originally used as data processing. Back in 1980s till now we use computers and monitors were used as data processing and entertainment. A CPU which stands for a central processing unit is hardware inside a computer or smartphone. What a CPU does is it tells instructions to the computer program. The term CPU has been used the early 1960s. A keyboard is what you use to type with for your computer. On a keyboard there are keys. The keys have numbers, letters, and symbols printed on them, so when yu push a key with a letter on it it will appear on the computer.A mouse is a device that points to what you want to click on. The mouse to a computer used to be called a " Computer Aided Display Control."This is the iphone 5. The iphone was inventeed by a man named Steve Jobs. The iphone is a smart phone. A smart phone is a phone that you can get on the Internet with. The first iphone was released on June 29, 2007. The iphone isnt like any other smartphone it has a keyboard like a computer. On the iphone you can face time which is you can call somebody up and talk to them face to face.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvKxJ3bQRKE&feature=player_detailpage The reason I chose this video is because it talks about the history of computers. When you first click on the video a amn starts talking and his name is Adam. The video shows how the computer got started and the very first computers ever made.

Computers Today
Computers Today
Today I’m writing about computers in the 21st
century and how it has affected our lives. The computer has changed in so many
ways from its beginning. A computer is made up of many parts there is the
monitor, tower, computer, keyboard, and mouse. Inside the computer are many different
things such as the motherboard, the motherboard is a foundation inside your
computer that is used as a elements, the CPU which is like the brain of the
computer makes the computer work, and the RAM, the RAM stores data, but it can
also read data that you have stored. There are so many people that have contributed
to the computer such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Charles Babbage, and so many
more. The first computer took up about 28 square feet. Computers continued to
get smaller, and now 94 % of Americans have one in their home. Computers have
changed the way we communicate, send letters, and work. Computers also help pay
bills, and people who have their own business and work at home. Having the
Internet is like having the world at our fingertips. Computer software was
proposed in 1835 by a man named Alan Turning. Software is instruction that
tells a computer what to do and how to do it. There are tons of software you
can use today such as these, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Window, and Microsoft
Excel. Software can also be used in things such as automobiles, televisions,
and video games. One thing a lot of people do on their computers is communicate
ways they do that is through face book, twitter, blogs, email, my space, faith
book, and so many more. Computers are used for research, no longer are
encyclopedias the main source of for researching projects and reports we can
use the internet to get our information off of.

2001 A Space Odssey
2001 A Space Odyssey
~ Dawn of Man~
Hey,
yesterday in Mr. Ellis class we watched a video on the movie 2001 A Space Odysseys
and we have to write a blog about the video.
In this
video the characters are gorillas or monkeys. At first the gorillas are in a cave,
they are making noise and then they go to sleep. A gorilla wakes up and he
hears this noise and then all the other gorillas wake up and they all go
running outside making weird noises and they find this wall that makes noise
and are worshipping it but they were also trying to maybe get rid of it. When they
find it they make weird noises, stomp their foot and kind of run into each
other, but when they finally realize it isn’t going to get rid of it they get
closer and closer to it and they start touching it. The next thing you know one
of the gorillas leaves and he goes and he picks up this stick and starts making
weird noises and breaking bones.
At the end of the video when the gorilla is
breaking the bones and throwing them up in the air and catching them again, and
then a tapir falls I think he realizes he is turning into a human being or “evolving
into a human being”. Every time the
video went to a new scene you always saw the sunrise I don’t know why it might
be that the monkeys died, evolved, or were just acting like crazy monkeys that
make weird noises. I think maybe when
the monkeys saw the wall it could have been a sign that they were going to “evolve
into humans”. If you would like to see this video and see if you might
understand it go to this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ML1OZCHixR0&feature=plcp.
